Programs

Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. (MIRCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide community based services to individuals recovering from mental illness and/or severe emotional problems in the Midlands of South Carolina. This is accomplished through a variety of counseling, housing and financial management initiatives including Friendship Center, Representative Payee, HomeBase and Supportive Housing programs.

To support this mission, our programs include:

  • Homeless Recovery Center - a drop-in center in downtown Columbia for homeless individuals with mental illness and substance abuse.
  • Supportive Housing - a permanent housing and counseling program.
  • HomeBase - a housing program for homeless individuals and families who need intensive services.
  • Group Homes - a housing program for individuals who would otherwise need hospitalization.
  • Friendship Center East & West - a counseling and peer support program.
  • Representative Payee - a financial management program for individuals in need of assistance managing disability benefits.
