Columbia, S.C. – The Lipscomb Family Foundation has awarded MIRCI $10,000.00 to support its Youth Drop-in Center (YDC) for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The YDC provides access to basic needs, behavioral healthcare, and referrals to community providers for youth age 17-24, so they can receive the resources needed to permanently exit homelessness. The Lipscomb Family Foundation grant will help fund these and other essential services offered by the YDC.
“We are grateful to have the support of the Lipscomb Family Foundation,” said Julie Ann Avin, MIRCI’s executive director. “Their gift will help us continue providing services to our clients as we cope with the effects that the pandemic has had on our community.”
MIRCI is a CARF-accredited, full-service behavioral healthcare provider that serves Lexington and Richland county’s most vulnerable population. MIRCI began providing youth services in 2017 and operates 365 days a year. Since the doors to the YDC opened, MIRCI has provided services to 495 youth.
