Mirci awarded $15,000 grant from Janssen Pharmaceuticals

July 29, 2020

Mental Illness Recovery Center Inc. was awarded $15,000.00 from Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies to support Outreach, Housing, and Behavioral Healthcare for homeless individuals living with mental illness throughout Richland and Lexington County.

MIRCI, a CARF accredited nonprofit behavioral healthcare organization, works to provide access and resources to our community’s most vulnerable population, individuals who are homeless and living with mental illness. Programs such as Homeless Outreach allow MIRCI to engage, interact and check on the wellbeing of individuals who are homeless. MIRCI’s housing programs provide permanent housing, enabling clients to exit homelessness successfully and live independently. MIRCI’s behavioral healthcare programs provide ongoing treatment to clients who have a severe and persistent mental illness.

“We are thrilled to have the support of Janssen Pharmaceuticals. At MIRCI, we work with folks to recover in all areas of their lives impacted by their illness. We stay engaged and this contribution helps us continue providing services 24/7,” said executive director, Julie Ann Avin.

With support from Janssen Pharmaceuticals, programs that have a long-lasting, sustainable, and life-altering impact are successful.
